Why Choose an Australian Cobberdog?

I chose Australian Cobberdogs because they have a sturdy physical structure (no squashed faces or short legs) therefore they have the best chance to be physically healthy.

Australian Cobberdogs are a highly intelligent and gentle breed. They are goofy yet patient, fun loving yet affectionate and sociable making them an ideal family pet. We breed our Australian Cobberdogs to be companion animals as above all, they are intuitive, always eager to please and genuinely seek a deep connection to people.

Wonderful Coats

Australian Cobberdogs are a non/low-shedding breed which makes them ideal for people with mild dog allergies and the house-proud. If you have concerns, please ask to meet one of our dogs near the ACT where you will have the chance to cuddle our dogs to test them out first.

Australian Cobberdogs come in a range of colours including brown, white, black, red, blonde, gold and parti-coloured. Coat types vary from curly wool coat to a wavy or straight fleece coat. Our dogs have the preferred wavy coat.

Australian Cobberdogs do need regular grooming. If you raise your dog on a suburban property and want them to look glamorous, you need to groom their long leg, chest, ear and beard hair every few days.

Sociability of an Australian Cobberdog ACT

Australian Cobberdogs are great watchdogs. When something comes to the house that they haven’t seen before, they will bark to sound the alarm but they then quiet down quickly. Your dog may bark if you don’t socialise him or provide enough exercise, stimulation and socialisation.

Australian Cobberdogs are highly sociable so long as both the breeder and owner properly socialises the puppies. Socialisation makes them compatible with other animals, children and elderly people.

Low Maintenance

Excellent Health

All breeds of dogs have inherited diseases within the breed. We breed our Australian Cobberdogs to be healthy. Compared to other breeds, our dogs have no squashed face, wrinkly skin or short legs. Australian Cobberdogs do have some inherited diseases that we rigorously test for and are therefore not present. As a result, our dogs are among the healthiest dogs available.

The best way to protect your new puppy from inherited diseases is to make sure it was not inbred and that the parents have been genetically tested for such diseases. This is why we do not inbreed our dogs and are confident in the genetic health of our puppies.

Sizes to suit everyone

Finally, Australian Cobberdogs vary in size. Official sizes, as per the MDBA Breed Standard are:

  • Medium- 42-51cm from floor to shoulder blade.
  • Standard- 51-61cm from floor to shoulder blade.
